An angry mob set ablaze a woman in Bauchi

State for refusing to submit herself for
security check.

According to the Daily trust the woman was
torched in Bauchi’s Muda Lawal Market and.....

the incident was confirmed by Police Public
Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Haruna
Mohammed.
He said “information at our disposal revealed
that a yet to be identified Lady, who allegedly
refused to allow herself to be screened at the
entrance of Muda Lawal Market Bauchi was
attacked by irate mob who took law into their
hands and set her ablaze. As a result, she
died on the spot before rescue could come”.
Mohammed said Police patrol teams including
Explosive ordinance disposal unit rushed to
the scene, dispersed the rampaging crowd
and restored normalcy in the Area.
He said the case is under investigation and
intensive patrol is ongoing in the Area in order
to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent
further breakdown of law and order
Mohammed said the Command warned
members of the public against taking laws
into their hands as anyone arrested will face
the full wrath of the Law.
Bauchi state much like other Northern states
has been rocked by increased Boko Haram
Insurgencies in the past few months which
has made security checks mandatory in public
markets as the insurgents have been
targeting such places of late.
