2015 election onlyopportunity to resolve thenational question, says OjoMaduekwe


THE upcoming election has been
described as the only opportunity left
for Nigeria to resolve the national
question by voting accordingly in the
coming presidential election.
Former National Secretary of the
Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and

serving Ambassador to Canada , Chief
Ojo Maduekwe who stated this while
speaking at the PDP flag -off of the
Abia 2015 presidential and
governorship campaign rally,
explained the implication of re-
electing PDP’s presidential candidate
President Goodluck Jonathan and
electing Major General Mohammed
Buhari of the APC.
He pointed out that while re-electing
Jonathan will mean the continuity of
change and accordingly resolving the
national question, electing Buhari , he
said is for continuity of the seclusion
and provide zero opportunity to
resolve the said national question.
The said national question to many ,
is the continuity of changing
democratically the national
leadership particularly, rotating the
presidency among Nigeria’s
component geo-political zones or
sections .
Maduekwe who was also Minister of
Transport , Culture and presidential
Adviser at different times, therefore

urged Abians and Nigerians desirous
of enthroning continuity of change of
leadership to vote for the re- election
of president Jonathan.
“ We should not only vote for
Jonathan but we must vote totally for
all the PDP candidates”.
Former Senate president, Adolph
Wabara and pioneer Niger Delta
Development Commission(NDDC)
Chairman Chief Onyema Ugochukwu,
who spoke for Abia South and Abia
Central senatorial members of the PDP
respectively, indicated their people’s
resolve to return Jonathan describing
his government as one that provides
equal and equitable opportunity for all
Nigerians.
Acknowledging the support of Abians
to his government, President Jonathan
accompanied by his wife Dame
Patience , renewed his commitment to
improving power supply saying that
doing so would support their
entrepreneurship and industry.
State governor Theodore Orji who
acknowledged President Jonathan’s
love for Abia and the South east , said
in times of need, he Jonathan had
come to the aid of the state hence
Abians are desirous of seeing to his
re-election for which they increased
their voting strength by registering
massively to vote.
PDP national Chairman Alhaji Adamu
Mua’zu who announced that the
immediate past governor of the state
Chief Orji Uzor Kalu sent goodwill
message to the rally , disclosed that
Kalu has been working with Jonathan
and PDP at Abuja towards ensuring
victory for the party .

Akobundu, Chairman of PDP
presidential Campaign Organization
senator Ahmadu Ali, ex national
Chairman of the party Prince Vincent
Ogbulafor, Ex Anambra state governor
Mr Peter Obi, Minister Ngozi Okonjo-
Iweala who recalled that Jonathan
deserved re election having among
others, created 1.2 million jobs, made
Nigeria the largest economy in Africa
and had special interest in women and
youths, Chairman of Ohanaeze Youth
Wing Mr Okey Isiguzo said Igbo
youths had endorsed Jonathan’s
reelection.
High points were the earlier
interaction of the president with the
state traditional rulers and
presentation at the rally of the state
PDP Candidates for the National
Assembly election and that for the
state governorship Dr Okezie Victor
Ikpeazu who was also given the PDP
Flag with his deputy Hon ude a oko
Chukwu, the serving Speaker of the
state house of assembly.
The president described Ikpeazu as a
well educated and hardworking young
man and charged him to be
interfacing with the youths and play
politics with transparency. comments!!
